2021 Nissan Leaf Performance
There are two powertrains available for the 2021 Nissan LEAF, both of which use a 110-kilowatt electric motor to power the front wheels. The standard-range variant outputs 147 horsepower and has a 149-mile range, while the longer-range Nissan LEAF Plus raises production to 214 horsepower and battery pack capacity to 62 kilowatt-hours for 226 miles on a full charge.
Using a fast charger (optional on the S trim, but otherwise standard), an 80 percent charge takes only 26 minutes. Range is given an assist with regenerative braking, which is further helped along by e-pedal mode, which allows you to brake by simply easing off the "gas" pedal; this feature takes a bit of fatigue off driving in stop-and-go traffic.
