The 2016 Nissan Frontier is considered a midsize pickup truck, and it’s available in crew cab and extended cab configurations. You’ll get your choice of one of five trims: S, SV, Desert Runner, Pro-4X, and S. You’ll also get to choose between two engines. The first is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 152 hp and 171 lb-ft of torque. It comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission and all-wheel drive, though an automatic transmission is also available. The second engine available is a 4.0-liter V6 engine that cranks out a very impressive 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. Both manual and automatic transmissions are available for this engine also, as is all-wheel drive. Which engine you choose will likely come down to how much you’ll need to tow—the four-cylinder can tow up to 3,500 lbs., while the V6 can tow up to 6,000!
