We know we’re fortunate to be Nissan dealers in Indianapolis, IN. We work in a beautiful city that’s filled with friendly, caring individuals just like the towns and cities that surround Indianapolis. We also get to change people’s lives by helping them get the new and pre-owned Nissan vehicles they want and need. Another perk we get to enjoy is sharing news about the Nissan brand.

Today, we’re proud to tell you that three of the vehicles that are included in the Nissan brand’s 2017 lineup earned the Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The 2017 Nissan Altima, the 2017 Nissan Maxima, and the 2017 Nissan Rogue all earned the coveted TSP+ rating for their performance in various tests conducted by the IIHS.

To earn the TSP+ rating, a vehicle has to earn the mark of good in several crashworthiness tests, including small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and roof strength. The car has to earn a score of “advanced” or “superior” for its frontal crash prevention system as well. The IIHS added another requirement for an automobile to earn the TSP+ rating this year. As of this year, a vehicle must also get a score of “good” or “acceptable” for its headlight performance to earn the IIHS’s highest overall mark of TSP+.

Why is it a big deal for the Nissan Rogue, Nissan Maxima, and Nissan Altima to earn the Top Safety Pick+ rating? It’s a big deal because it means that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, a trusted automotive authority, has determined that these vehicles are among the safest automobiles in their respective classes.

While we’re proud that the Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, and the Nissan Rogue earned the TSP+ rating, we’re also proud of everything else these cars have to offer, such as the latest technology features and roomy, comfortable cabins. To find your next Nissan vehicle, visit Tom Wood Nissan today.
