When people think of the 2017 Nissan GT-R, they normally think about how fast this vehicle is capable of going. Ironically, this performance sports car was recognized for going slow during the ALG Residual Value Awards presentation. This Nissan GT-R wasn’t given an award for its rate of speed. Instead, the 2017 Nissan GT-R was recognized with a 2017 ALG Residual Value Award in the Premium Sports Car category for its slow depreciation rate. The Nissan brand accepted this sought-after award at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The ALG Residual Value Awards are given to vehicles in a variety of segments that are expected to retain the highest percentage of their manufacturer’s suggested retail price at the end of their first three years of ownership. In the opinion of many automotive authorities, including ALG, depreciation is the biggest expense when it comes to the cost of owning an automobile.
"We have always been proud of how [the Nissan] GT-R delivers exceptional 'bang for the buck' in terms of pure performance-per-dollar," said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. "The recognition by ALG adds another convincing reason why [the Nissan] GT-R is a great choice, though we think all it really takes is to slip behind the steering wheel and push the engine start button."
For the 2017 model year, the Nissan GT-R comes in two attractive, performance-driven models, the Nissan GT-R Premium and the Nissan GT-R NISMO, the latter of which is going to be produced on a limited basis.
