As your local Nissan dealer near Carmel, IN, we’re proud to have vehicles like the 2017 Nissan Altima in our inventory. We’re also proud of the brand we represent. We’re proud of the Nissan brand for more than just producing stylish, reliable vehicles. We admire the Nissan brand because of all of the work the company does for communities throughout the country. Just like our Nissan dealership, the Nissan brand gives back.

The Nissan brand founded the Nissan Foundation is 1992, after violence erupted in Los Angeles when the Rodney King trial verdict was announced. The goals of the foundation are to establish constructive ways to celebrate cultural diversity, create alternative ways of thinking, and strengthen and enrich communities through greater self-awareness.

Since it was established, the Nissan Foundation has given $9 million to more than 100 non-profit groups located throughout the United States. The foundation is currently soliciting letters of intent from charities for its 2017 grant year. Non-profits have until 8pm EST on Friday, November 18, 2016 to submit their letters of intent. The application process is conducted online so that it remains in keeping with the Nissan brand’s mission to support a greener environment and eliminate paper waste.

"The Nissan Foundation is committed to enriching people's lives in the communities where Nissan operates," said Vicki Smith, executive director of the Nissan Foundation. "The foundation supports educational programs that celebrate and foster greater appreciation for the value that exists in a positive, diverse community."

If you’re affiliated with a charity that could benefit from a grant from the Nissan Foundation, we encourage you to submit a letter of intent prior to the deadline provided above. If you’d like to learn more about how Tom Wood Nissan gives back to our shared community, we recommend that you stop by our Nissan dealership on East 96th Street in Indianapolis, IN.
