As Nissan dealers serving Fishers, IN, we get excited whenever a vehicle like the 2017 Nissan Murano joins our lineup of new Nissan cars. Because of what we do for a living, we get excited about Nissan cars even when they’re years away from being available to the public or they’re made to demonstrate a concept.
One car that gets us really excited whenever we hear about it is the Nissan IDS Concept because the brand we represent believes this concept car represents the future of autonomous electric driving. The Nissan brand hopes the Nissan IDS Concept will help the automaker achieve two critical goals, zero emissions and zero traffic fatalities.
The Nissan IDS Concept is designed to get you wherever you’re going safely and efficiently. When you’re in Piloted Drive mode, the car drives itself while mimicking your driving style and preferences.
The Nissan IDS Concept is equipped with a powered 60-kWh battery. The car’s hatchback body is made from carbon-fiber, which is lightweight and aerodynamic, giving the car an even greater driving range. The car sits low to the ground and it has very thin, low rolling resistance tires. The vehicle’s tires are located close to the car’s corners, which maximizes space inside the automobile and improves its air flow.
When you chose Piloted Drive mode, the steering wheel disappears into the instrument panel and all four passenger seats rotate inward to allow for easy conversation. A large panel that displays your route, appointments, and other information appears. When you resume control of the car by choosing Manual Drive mode, the steering wheel reappears, the seats rotate forward, and the interior lighting turns blue to encourage concentration on the road.
While we don’t have the Nissan IDS Concept in our Nissan showroom, you can see all of the cars that are currently in our showroom online. If you have questions about any of our automobiles or you want to learn more about the Nissan IDS Concept, contact Tom Wood Nissan today.
