The Nissan brand is planning to go big at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, which runs from February 11 through February 20, 2017. As one of Lucasfilms Ltd.’s five global partners, the Nissan brand will offer an immersive “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” experience for anyone who visits its display area during the upcoming auto show.
"The overarching goal of our alliance with 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story' is to drive awareness for the [2017] Nissan Rogue, and during the campaign we've not only seen online searches for [the Nissan] Rogue triple, we've seen the crossover rise to the best-selling spot in the Nissan lineup," said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications & Media, Nissan North America, Inc. "The momentum continues at the Chicago Auto Show this year where we are bringing extra attention to the 2017 Nissan Rogue as well as the 2017 Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition vehicles with several interactive experiences and Star Wars-themed displays at the show."
The Nissan brand’s display will feature a Nissan Rogue that will include elements from the popular Star Wars franchise for the first time. In addition to showcasing the Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition, the display will also feature a Nissan Rogue that was inspired by an X-wing. While the custom-built, X-wing inspired Nissan Rogue won’t be for sale, it will have thrusters, blasters, and side mirrors that will project the Rebel logo. An astromech droid will also be part of the display.
If you’re planning to attend the 2017 Chicago Auto Show, you won’t have to worry about finding the Nissan exhibit. That’s because the Nissan brand will have a huge, inflatable Death Star floating above the vehicles it has on display. The Death Star measures 17 feet in diameter and will be impossible to miss. The Nissan brand’s exhibit will be in the North Hall of the McCormick Place Convention Center, the host site for the 2017 Chicago Auto Show.
