Nissan's assembly plant in Canton, Mississippi began production for the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano this month. The Murano brings a lot of unique features such as the V-motion front end, LED boomerang lights and the "floating" roof.

The car was first introduced as a concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show and now the concept has become a reality. The model is being manufactured for the first time in the US and Canton’s assembly line will serve as the worldwide hub for Murano production.

"The Murano is actually the most technologically advanced vehicle ever built in Canton. For Canton, this is a really big breakthrough. A: It is the most technical vehicle they have ever had; and B: It is a car they are going to be exporting to many, many markets," said John Martin, senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan North America, Inc in a statement released by Nissan.

The 2015 Murano is equipped with four cameras and three radar sensors. These assets give the car better features such as blind spot warning, forward emergency braking, predictive forward collision warning, intelligent cruise control and rear cross traffic alert. These technological features help keep the driver safe and alert.

The new Murano will be coming December of this year.

"It's sleek, it's gonna be a head-turner," said Maxine Funches, technician, Nissan Canton.
